Superannuation: your new freedom to choose
Most Australian workers can choose the fund into which their employer deposits their Superannuation Guarantee (SG) contributions, and this choice will soon also be offered to WA State Government employees.
Choice of superannuation fund (Choice) will apply to you if you are receiving SG contributions from your employer. Currently, in most cases, State Government employer super contributions have to be paid into GESB.
Once Choice is introduced, you will be able to choose another super fund. If you don't make a choice, your employer super contributions will continue to be paid to GESB or your employer's default fund.
If you are unsure of your employer's current default fund you should contact your HR Officer.
A communication campaign to inform State Government employers and employees about Choice is currently being implemented.
